Managing Windows Server 2003

Hi,

I have an opportunity to be colocated through a local company for a very cheap rate ($50.00 a month). I currently run three game servers and pay about $90.00 a month through a game server hosting company. I don't really have any control over the server other than stopping and restarting it. Being colocated I would have full control over the server and save some money in the process. I have the hardware and a legit version of Windows Server 2003. The problem is I don't have any experience with Win 2k3 Server or managing it. Anybody have some newbie friendly guides or any other tips? TIA!!

That's a pretty broad topic. What part of it do you need help managing? Active Directory? DNS? Users? Apps?

Out of curiosity, where are you being co-located, and can I get in on that?

I would highly suggest these. They are a bit pricey, but even if you are not going to take the exams (I never did), reading these are the best thing that's helped me as a server administrator.

There's a million ebooks out in the wild on limewire and bittorrent on the subject if one were inclined to look in that direction.

Microsoft need to restructure the exam to reflect topics covered in textbook used by its academy partner. Many of the questions was barely touched in the book for my class. This is the case with Cisco too eventhough the notes used are from their website. Sometimes i think this certification exam is just to make money.
