If kids still got smacked every now and again, the world might be a better place.

"ESPN said it has decided to use a five-second delay for remaining Little League broadcasts."

That's funny and sad at the same time.

Nope. But I know that violence doesn't work on most kids in the long run, and sometimes it can have a negative effect.

Let me guess. Your parents weren't immigrants.

It doesn't matter. I try not to let their actions or words affect my beliefs.

You lay a hand on my kid, you better be ready to defend yourself.

It's the parents' place to decide who physically disciplines a kid, and if it occurs at all.

There is a big difference between violence and a swat on the butt or wrist.

I think all students should go through basic training equivolent to what marine recruits go through. Teach them some respect and dicsipline.

And here we see yet another reason why our children are growing up more and more unruly and problematic.

I disagree. A child's cooperation is directly proportional to the amount of force with which you strike them. Need their toys picked up? Smack upside the head. Need your car detailed? Baseball bat.

Are you going to be one of those parents who manslaughters the coach because he smacked your kid for cussing on live national TV?

That would never happen, but it would be nice...

Keep your little innocent snort nosed spoiled brat well disciplined and maybe others wouldnt have to do what you dont want to.

Not directly at YOU, but as a general statement. I feel the same way, but my kids have also had that ass worked over a time or two as well. I dont have to worry about having another parent disciplining my children because they are well behaved. Reason is, they know what happens when they arent.

No he would probably just call Nanny 911 crying and saying he doesn't know what to do.

I would need to see the video before judging. There's a difference between a light pop on the shoulder or even the back of the head and a full on hit.

This article does nothing to give you an idea of where or how hard the "strike" landed. They leave it entirely up to the reader's imagination.
