ECS K7S5A & AMD MP 1600+ (awaiting Epox M762A and another MP 1600+)
Leadtek WinFast GeForce2 MX DH Pro (TwinView with 2 VGA connectors), feeding two NEC E700s.
So, I'm playing around with WinXP, knowing that my more important Win2K environment will remain intact. I downloaded and archived the 2.7.0.0 nVidia drivers from Windows Update, exploded the CAB file, and forced the install over 2.3.1.2. Upon reboot, I had no display, since the 2.7.0.0 drivers only listed support for GeForce4 MX and Quadro2 cards. I rebooted again, this time into XP's safe mode. It let me roll back the driver to 2.3.1.2. Rebooted to XP and found that nView was still there, even though I was back to my 2.3.1.2 drivers.
Has some interesting features like:
Controlling window & dialog spanning across multiple monitors (keep windows/dialogs on one scree, allowing maximize over both displays)
Make windows transparent when dragging
Faster maximize
Faster menus (and I mean hella fast, compared to XP's native behavior with all the bells and whistles)
Zoom stuff
Lots more hot ket settings
Multiple desktops (naming them and controlling wallpapers, etc.)
Well, I also have XP's multiple desktop power toy installed and running, so I technically have 4 x 4 desktops, each of which is its own TwinView (2 monitors) display. Rather wicked, considering up to 32 possible locations for a single window.
