I once worked for a guy who was arrested for mortgage fraud, attempting to forge documents to take out a second mortgage on property owned by Don Johnson's mother-in-law. While in prison awaiting trial he had a telephone conversation with his wife in which he gave her detailed instructions for manufacturing documents which could be used as exculpatory evidence. The feds, having monitored his communications while in custody, waited until his attorney produced the manufactured evidence at trial, then arrested all three of them. I believe the attorney got off as an unwitting accomplice, not sure what happened to the wife, but my former boss put in several years in Dublin over that one.

I just don't understand why the think they can outsmart the feds and end up making matters worse for themselves and in your case the ones they supposedly love.

Manafort is a dumbass, but this is all him and has nothing to do with the Trump investigation. Why does Mueller even handling it?

Because the power given to the special counsel in this case was to investigate the Russia shit, and to take care of any other fucked up shit they found on the way. Clearly they are finding lots of it. Seems to be a lot of shit in the Trump orbit. I like using the word shit when talking about Trump related stuff because Trump is truly the biggest piece of shit I have ever seen on the political stage in this country. So shit if it ain't appropriate.

You don't seem to understand how the scope of a special prosecutor grows as he investigates.

You want him to turn a blind eye to crimes he discovers along the way? Would you feel better if they were handed off to... someone?

We won't know that unless he decides to cop a plea or they charge him later or they have more they can charge him with.

Nowhere did I say turn a blind eye to any crimes discovered in the process. But it does seem that they would turn it over to say the FBI or DOJ as it is taking away from the original mandate of the special prosecutors time and energy.

So Manafort pulled a classic Trump face plant and now I'm thinking Manafort is that much closer to making a deal with Mueller. Trump must be grinding his teeth down to the gum line by now. Russia Russia Rush a Trump chump and they squeal like little girls running to Daddy Trump for a get out of jail card.

Pardon me while I step away from the keyboard and have a gut busting, tear jerking laughing fit over this latest fuckup by one of Trump's cronies.
