his father is in the paper crying foul, but why wasnt he keeping him off the streets in an instituition where he could get help?

He did. But in the end, a grown man does what he wants. He wasn't a danger to himself or anyone else.

This happened about 300 feet from my home. I encountered the homeless man dozens of times over the last two years. He's harmless, and far from worthless.

He broke bones of those police officers. That's not "harmless".

It's about time to fire every cop in the United States and start over.

I heard about this last week - hopefully some of Fullerton's finest end up in jail. Since the FBI is involved now, it may happen.

NSFW image and video:

Hahahaha. FBI involvement? Stupid ass cops should have known better than to kill a White man. They need more training.

This shit happens to minorities all the damned time, on camera, and nothing ever happens. Once it's a White guy involved, the shit will hit the fan.

lol.

That post is so trollish it should get you permabanned.

How is that trollish? He was a grown man. He decided to stop taking his medication and run away from home. What did you suggest he do? Throw a bag over his son's head and deliver him to an asylum in the trunk of his car?

You should be banned for using the word 'permabanned'...... douchebag.

Where does it state that this is the case?

I've been following it closely. They made it up to cover their asses. The investigators asked for the medical reports of broken bones, but there weren't any. And just the fact that they were on the streets the next day, for a fact, is enough. What bone could one break and still function in a law enforcement capacity?

Why did South Central burn itself to the ground again?

If it's the guy I'm thinking of, he's unstable. Bums smokes at the coffee shop I used to go to, kept to himself mostly. But I had to chase him out of my driveway once.

Probably the same guy. Big red beard, smoked all the time.

The city has already offered $900k to settle the case.
The PD retracted previous claims of broken bones.

I didn't mean it adds worth, I meant that it explains what happened and meant that this person needed help, he could well have been a very worthwhile person with the right help.

keep looking you havent found the help you need yet.

Poor dude didn't deserve to die...the cops obv used too much force, but with some of the craz shit these guys see, hear and go through maybe a sort of primal life or death sort of thing kicks in when you are in the heat of the moment and you just never know what some crazy homeless guy might do to you. I bet this crap happens all the time but it's getting publicity b/c the guy's father was an ex cop. Go figure.

It's their job to not succumb to those instincts.

The men and women who wear the badges need to be above that. It got zero publicity for weeks, and has nothing to do with his father being an ex cop. It's getting publicity because a grave injustice was perpetrated against a member of the community, and people are outraged.

One less crazy homeless person the world has to deal with.
I'm all for compassion, but mentally unstable violent people have no place in our society.

I know it is their job, sometimes they don't/can't do that. It's like when you see videos of people who ran from them, then give up. Even though they surrender, stand/lay still with hands in the air, etc the cops still throw them to the ground and then 5 other cops come over to "subdue" them. Happened to a friend of mine in college. He is like 5 foot 6 weighs 140 and was "resisting arrest" by two cops. They threw him into a gaurd rail and slammed him to the ground. He needed to go to the hospital to get stitches and was bruised up, but the cops always get the benefit of the doubt.
