Considering the huge over representation of pit bulls in maiming and fatal dog attacks I think we need to widely implement special licenses required to own them, the purpose being to effectively shutter the interest in the general public owning them, similar to how certain other animals are treated.

Here's a story about some damned idiots I read recently:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...cued-Long-Island-family-later-euthanized.html

I would wholely support the complete eradication of the breed.

Amazing how there's so much correlation between pitbull attacks and the owner's occupation.

Clearly it's the breed's fault.

I was walking with my wife and son the other day in one of the few off leash parks in the area and a large white dog of indeterminate breed jumped on her and by proxy my child. The dog didn't intend to harm anyone, it's owners were just crappy people and when they wandered over the hill they laughed at their dog accosting people.

If it isn't pitbulls, it will be rottweilers, dobermans, pressa canarios, or any number of other breeds that I can't think of right away, or any number of an infinite array of half breeds or mutts.

Exactly. All the breeds capable of killing humans should be eliminated. There is simply no need for them in a modern civilization. Lap dogs are fine. Dogs that are as deadly as wolfs are an anachronism.

Wow Crazy Videos. I appreciate everyone trying to help, but not sure how noone could get a bat, tire iron or a 2x4. It is NY afterall, those things are generally lying around.

That looked like a bat at the very end that someone was swingly wildly as the pitbulls attacked another person. There were at least 3 victims in the video. I am guessing the police shot or will have the animals euthanized.

It's funny how when dogs go nuts the owner gets busted. But when a young male on SSRIs goes frickin nuts they dont go after the doctors or the big pharma companies. They dont even talk about them.

Dogs are property according to the law.

Umm, actually, more than a couple people have tried suing doctors and drug companies for shit a patient did. And they have also tried to sue tobacco companies and gun companies for the same reason.

Until someone breeds the largest of the litters back in to large dogs. On balance there probably isn't a dog breed on planet earth that's as deadly as wolves- owing to the fact that the gross majority of wolves still hunt for food. Every time the nanny staters start up I think they can't possibly get more ridiculous but eventually we're going to retreat from this or cross the Rubicon.

Wolf hounds and borzoi are at least the equal to wolves and a single caucasian shepherd could absolutely demolish a wolf (or even two at once). There are other breeds that were also bred to hunt/kill wolves.

Fucking wolves are half the size and nowhere near as powerful

Since when did "nanny state" come to mean protecting the general population from assholes who think it's really cool to own dogs that have the instinct to "bite to kill" combined with an unpredictable personality?
