its so unfortunate i couldnt get off of the 'slump' i had been in ever since the senior year at the high school. my freshman grades really suffered and i am facing the risk of not being able to come back for the next school year... sad but true: it all depends how i do in this semester and speaking of which i got a test coming tomorrow. :( i know i got no one else but myself to blame, i really need some kind of encouragement and energy to move on tho :frown:
guess my first step is to go cold turkey on computer games for the next week
oh well off to study now, hope yall have fun :)

yep, I delete all games off of my hard drive during the semester. It is a pain in the ass to reload them like I did last week, but well worth it. Try it a semester.
First time I went to this extreme and I got back to a 4.0 this semester. First time in like 3 semesters. Keep it together, take summer school and come back strong. Don't get down on yourself though. If there is one thing that doesn't solve problems, it is worrying about things that you have no control over. Get in there, smoke that exam, and hold up your head.

So this next semester is make or break for ya?

You have to refresh yourself dude, clear your mind. Buy a NEW notebook and NEW pencil sharpner. Buy lots of paper (college ruled). Now you're set for a great semester!

i find i do best not when i stop playing games or surfing the web, but moderating how much time i do. I study for about 3-4 hours a day, and spend the rest going to class or playing games, or relaxing with friends. It works so much better than studying for an entire day, cuz i dont soak up anything like that.

If you want some motivation, go down to the local trailer park and check out everyone living in squallor. None of them have a college education. You have the opportunity to do something with your life, to make the most of your potential, and unfortunately it seems you lack the maturity to realize that right now.

Computer games will always be there, but you won't always have the chance to get the education while you're young and make the most out of yourself.

Best of luck man, you can do it.
