I saw 1 episode of this show, and I agree.

Screech is one of the biggest losers I've ever witnessed in my life. He wants the whole world to feel bad for his position and he is just an asshole who thinks he is gods gift to the world.

This is why "reality TV" isn't.

Only the sociopathic or an acomplished actor can disregard the camera to the extent required to actually be "real".

This sort of crap is tired beyond compare.

Exactly

I can't understand why people actually believe this crap.

Actually he has a lot of self control.

Does he? If I was that guy's size (or hell, even my size), I would have laughed off the UFC comment and moved on

First, he is 1stSgt. Walden not Sgt. Waldon. Second, he is a United States Marine Corps Drill Instructor show some respect. Third, I'd believe that the producers would encourage 1stSgt Walden to react in such a way to boost ratings.

Bottom line, Dustin Diamond showed absolute disrespect to the man, if I were in the 1stSgt's shoes I would do the same as he did.

OK. The guy (whoever he is) hates to be threatened, yet he justifies threatening screech like 30 times with 30 expletives. What integrity! And since when is 'setting up a UFC match' a threat? This guy needs to lay off the crack.

I have no idea what this show is, thank god. :)

Hmmm....

first....what was the context????

second....I think it was staged....before screech even finishes his line about the UFC (actually, even before he even mentions UFC) the pissed off dude begins to mention it.

Screech shoulda told him to bring it.

He looks like he's all bark.

I'm gonna guess he could take Screech...

Idk, Screech apparently has a black belt in karate...

UFC is not exactly karate friendly......

Doubt the Sgt has any ground skills.

while i have a lot of respect for those in the military and for those that served.

Giving the guy a pass on how he acts just because he was milaary is not right. Respect is a 2 way street. Walden did started the threats and screaming. while that may work in the milaary that is not how people act in civilian life.

staged or not, id have been laughing if i watched that in person too. personally i think the sgt is an asshat, hes not training marines. hes trying to help washed out celebs get a few pounds shaved off for a paycheck and ratings. he blows up like that a lot, i know this and i dont even watch the show... just the few episodes my ex wife used to make me sit thru for "family time".

Ding.

He doesn't deserve "respect" any more than a garbage man when it comes to "civilian" life. Respect is earned, not thrown at you because of a title from your job.

That said the guy clearly can't control himself in an acceptable manner. The way Dustin blows him off and the guy gets more enraged is hilarious :D

Sorry, I think hamming-it up for the camera on a 3rd-tier reality tv show slightly lessens the respect this guy commands.

Respect? From what I saw, the guy flew off the handle and made the first threat about kicking Screech's ass. What is the "correct" response to that? Should Dustin fall to his knees and beg forgiveness, maybe offer to kiss the guy's boots?

Screech is an idiot.

You must run shadow to shadow in life.

Seemed like Screech had the backbone in this exchange.

exactly...people earn respect; it's only a given for those that are easily controlled.

So, earning respect is the way to live life. Got it.

Do I disrespect a religious leader until they've earned my respect? How about a civic leader?

Yeah that dude has been hitting the pipe a bit too much.

Usually a religious leader / civic leader has already done something worthy of giving them respect.

Some tool in a cassock spouting on about you dying in hell, no.

However; maybe eos paints life with a broader paint brush.

Screech would have kicked his ass. That dude was all bark, and by the end of his tirade, he was tired out and almost crying. Had he resorted to violence, he would have been even more tired and fully crying.
