The forums are zipping along for me as well. I was apprehensive at first about paying for a subscription, but it is worth every penny.

 
Yea the forums are a bit slow now due to all the new people like me, but subscribing would be great if i had the money to spend like that =X, but i just listen to mp3s and chat while the pages load so its not big deal =D
 
Looks like they are squeezing every last bit of coinage out of the non-subscribers

Anyone know of the bandwidth ratio for the subscribers vs forums, forums2 and forums3?
 
Holy Cow!!

I bit the bullet and finally signed up for the pay service. This thing is flying now!! I was starting to get really turned off by the slowness of the forums. Looks like you just have to pay if you want to play.
 
i still dont like that they cut the bandwidth to the free forums without telling anyone what was going on, then said you can only have it fast (fast as it always was before when it was free) if you pay hard earned money.

of course I did, but I've been here since the UBB forums. but I gave them my money grudgingly.. all I know is Anand gets a new BMW every 6 months and I dont


edit - i propose giving all us who've been here since the beginning free subscriber accounts and refunds for us that have paid 😀

Its $30 a year man! Its not that expensive 🙂 Although I do see where you could have troubles there.
 
I got a membership last week. Kicks butt. I wouldn't live without it now. The forums are nearly unusable without it at peak times. I paid $12 for 3 months worth to try it. If you spend enough time here it pays off quickly.
