Give me a quality transfer and I'll be in line for a pre-order.

This + Abyss Director's cut = happy me.

Abyss Director's cut in nuts. When he's trying to get her to breath again he pounds her for like 15 solid minutes! That movie rocked my face off as well. They really don't make 'em like they used too.

This is why Cameron needs to get off his ass and return to Sci Fi/Action.

True Lies has always been a guilty pleasure of mine

I think the UK or German T2 is supposed to be tits, no? Still waiting for the proper release over here.

I have T3 on HDDVD and it's not too shabby. Not great....but I find it worth a watch every now and again.

Is it? I hope so and I hope a better version is coming here as well :)

your wish may be coming true soon...

This thing has had more releases than Pacman Jones.

I'm gonna pick it up on BluRay once I get a player, but as of now, my only copy is on LaserDisc.

I remember going to the Drive In to watch T2 when I was young, it was awesome. I don't even know if I've seen T1 all the way through, can't recall.

Good call. That is definitely why I enjoy T1 over T2. I really like Alien, but have not seen the second one, so cannot comment on the differences.

KT

Good lord, you need to watch Aliens stat. The analogy is very valid, T1 is to T2 as Alien is to Aliens. They should put that one on the SAT. :)

PS: Ignore Anubis, Alien 3 and 4 both suck. :)

Alien3 would have been a better movie if it didn't carry the Alien name. I thought it was a very well produced sci-fi/horror style movie. It was trying to go back to it's roots of the original. It just wasn't what people came to expect from Aliens.

Aliens 4 tried to back track and go for more action while taking a French artsy style of directing. Again, just not what the ass kicking space marine action style that fans of Alien 2 came to expect.

Exactly! It's still my favorite movie of all time. I started watching it on Spike the other day even though I have it on DVD.

Not to hate on Alien or anything, but it's practically the intro to A2. A2 is where nearly every quote comes from as well.

This thread made me pop T2 into the player. Easily one of my top 5 movies. It does everything well, especially considering the time period. I wish that action movies of today would take a hint from this classic, mainly the lack of fast motion chop scenes, as well as the limited and tasteful use of CGI.

"Your foster parents are dead." I love that line. :)

you really need to watch A2 and 3 if you have not seen them

A3 is more like A1 and IMO is just as good

Will do. Maybe I'll do a marathon.

KT

Holy shnikies! you haven't seen A2?

<----VERY disappointed :|

BAD KT, very BAD!

Try to get the special edition / director's cut of both movies.
I disagree, the theatrical release of both were far better. In A2 DC they revealed an Alien too early, It's better when they were revealed first mopping everyone up. In A1 it was just a bunch of retarded filler crap.. the Alien turnes them into eggs? WTF? that was bad. Bravo to the editor, hope he got paid well.

DC of A2 was better than the theatrical. The only alien shown early in the DC was the face hugger but it gave more back story to Newt. The addition of the sentry guns was awesome. And more Hudson was always a plus.

Pretty much paved the way for modern CGI.

T2 is absolutely fantastic.

the acting really wasn't that bad, I thought.

I miss the good James Cameron. Hopefully, some day, he can rise up again and destroy the evil James Cameron.

I just realized something.....is this why the Glau terminator character in the current series is named Cameron?

Well, James Cameron IS returning to the director's chair, and for a sci-fi movie as well. He said that it took him this long to find something that he thought would be challenging to do. :Q

I didn't realize it was due out this year.
