It seems like a bad choice of targets to me. Maybe I'm uninformed, but I don't think the people going to an AA meeting generally have excess income.

You might be thinking of Gamblers Anonymous, AA is for people who drink too much. xD

I have been to AA meetings and rich people can have drinking problems just the same as poor people.

A lot of the AA guys I'm familiar with had medium end jobs, and after getting reamed by the courts, or possibly losing their jobs, didn't have much excess cash on hand. I've also known lawyers who did AA, but I'd bet you the median income at a meeting is below average.

you can't judge a huge group like AA based on your very limited knowledge of people who have attended.

I could answer this with first hand knowledge, but who I see there is not for me to discuss.
