This guy is my hero:

Royal Melbourne Hospital neurosurgeons removed the nail in a delicate four-hour operation even though Shorten, who was expected to make a full recovery, had offered to take the nail out with a pair of pliers.

Fvck the hospital, just hand me the pliers & another beer.

I posed a thread about a year ago about a guy that tried committing suicide by shooting himself in the head with a nailgun. After like 28 tries of it not working he decided maybe he should go about it a different way.

What a pinhead.

at least the guy was good enough to admit he was an idiot for doing it. he would have been even more of an idiot if he tried to sue the nail gun manufacturer or something.

I honestly think you're kidding. I've seen too many not so stupid people injured when using different tools, this stuff just happens. It can happen to anyone at any time. I heard a true story of one guy who was fixing his car and accidentally lost 4 fingers. These accidents are commonplace among those who do manual work for a living, but much more commonplace among those who do such work occasionally, to fix something etc.

Did you read the article? This was no freak accident.
Shorten, 33, picked up a nail gun that he thought was empty, pointed it at his head and pulled the trigger.

He later said he had turned off the gun's compressor and taken out its nail cartridge but did not realize there was still enough pressure in the gun to fire a nail.

Pointed that gun at his own head? That's no freak accident. That doesn't "just happen."
