Man Palin is going to CRASH and burn come Thursday. How likely do you think it is that....

she will have a complete breakdown on stage, a la nervous break down / walk of the stage? I don't think it will go quite that far but I can picture it happening.

Of course the flip side and more likely outcome probably is that she will just barely eek through and the media will spin it as OH MY GOD HOW DID SHE MAKE IT, MAYBE SHE REALLY IS VP MATERIAL!!

She should just agree to Hefner's offer for a Playboy pose. Should take peoples' attention away from the debate.

Gotta love how a legit question from a "real live human voter" is spun as "an unfair trap set to ensnare her".

She will have been in debate camp for a FULL WEEK before the debate...and since the format is very formal (60 second answers, 30 second rebuttles), she should be able to spit out her rehearsed talking points at the proper time. I doubt anyone could mess that up. The media will say she did "well"..even though she never gave a moment's thought to any big issues more than a month ago.

Like she proved with Katie, "If ya can't dazzle 'em with your briliance, baffle 'em with your bullshit."

She'll just be rehashing talking points. The debate won't be like the presidential debate, the format will be simplified for her to look good. It will be almost impossible for her to fail.

Where there is a will there is a way. If she tries hard enough, she will fail. And I got a feeling she will be trying hard.

I think you are all underestimating her. She will be fine, Biden has more experience spewing BS and might come off better to the general public, but Palin willhold her own without a doubt.

You guys might want to quit watching SNL and focus on other things.

Have you seen her actual interviews? They are actually more ridiculous than the SNL skit at this point.

She's being prepped by former Bush aides so she'll probably perform like Bush did in the debates. They are great with preparing ignorant politicians to be passable in debates.

yes and I have seen Biden too,... telling a wheelchair bound politician from his own party to stand up, telling us that people were gathered around the TV during the great depression, etc,... Palin has her bad moments and good moments too.

I think people are expecting her to fail, I think she surprises and holds her own.

That is my opinion and we shall see,...

Personally, I will be having a few beers and downing some aspiring during each of these debates and interviews,... it is the only way to take this crap.

I am glad we only do this every 4 years,...

Just like a bad movie it will be 'better than expected' based on low expectations.

She's reminds me more and more of how Jesse Ventura got elected. Right place, right time saying the right anti-establishment mantra to a group of people who want to hear it. Throw in a little "star power" and you have a "perfect storm".

That's how Jesse got elected govenor and I think that's probably what happened in Alaska.

Obviously on the national stage that perfect storm rarely exists.

Thursday's debate is probably going to be the most watched in history. It appears it is Biden's to lose. He has to let her trip herself up, emphasize the point, gently, and move on. If it appears he's being mean to her or he has a "Jane, you ignorant slut" moment (for those of us who remember when SNL was funny) it may backfire on him. She's going to attack him. He has to ignore it.

Palin needs to be nearly perfect. She can't appear to be scripted. She can't hesitate and she has to be able to come off the talking points intelligently. If she can it will be the greatest debate prep ever accomplished.

Unless she's been sand bagging us.

It has all the makings of a giant train wreck.

The fact that she sounds like a cast member from the movie Fargo isn't helpful for her either.

Except that Jesse has a FAR better grasp of the issues...both foriegn and domestic.

I think her voice annoys me more than any of the other things she's screwed up. Everyone's expecting a poor debate performance from her, but I really want to see a McCain meltdown on stage. Too bad Obama's probably too nice to push all the right buttons.

Heh, I find that accent sexy... Of course, I'm from the far North where we talk like that, my damn accent comes back when I go up there or talk to friends/family on the phone. Hell, it came back when I watched the movie Fargo.

I think the VP debate will be entertaining to say the least, loose cannon Biden, and hockey mom are going to try like hell to stay on script, but you know they won't.

I've been wondering. Didn't she have some debates when she ran for governor? How did she do? Or, were all the topics like whether to cull the deer herd or not.

I can't imagine any governor really being too acquainted with international topics and one of the big problems for her isn't what she thinks, it's why she is for McCain's policies. Is it fair for anyone who wasn't there during primaries to keep abreast of whether or not McCain is for Bumfuckistan's independence and why?

Can they make it multiple choice?

Either way, Palin can't win on Thursday in the eyes of the lefties here and elsewhere. She has to options.

1- Lose the debate, and get railed by the lefties for performing poorly.
2- Win the debate, and get railed by the lefties for being prepped for the debate by Karl Rove.

I have no opinion and I may not even watch. I really don't like to write people off nor do I like wishing somebody do poorly. It's possible she could be President. My feeling is that she isn't qualified and how she does in the debate is irrelevant. She may be great, but she's a poor choice, in my opinion, for the job. Also, her running mate is the poor choice for his job but at least he's somewhat seasoned.

Obama isn't qualified either.
