Man on hunger strike sews up eyes, ears, mouth

"An Iranian Kurdish man living in Nottingham has sewn up his eyes, ears and mouth in protest at the possibility of being deported. The 33-year-old Abas Amini is on hunger strike and doctors say he could die within days."

Determination or lack of will power?

In a related note I received my official ATOT welcome kit in the mail. It's written in blood, consists of nothing but thread and needles and has a return address of "AT Moderator."

Should I be concerned?😕

I wonder when he stitched his eyes shut, did he go from under the eyelid or pull it out and go from the outside?

Yes, if you don't mail money and alcohol back to the mod 😛

I think that was the problem to begin with.

Musta been the Jaeger.

"Okay, you win. You won't be deported."
"Hellloooooo, did you hear me?"

"Huh, must be he can't hear the good news with his ears sewn shut"

Unfortunately he can probably still hear even if he has sewn his ears shut..

Dr Chris Udenze of Nottingham, who is treating the hunger striker, said Mr Amini is depressed because of his situation, but he is of sound mind.
Yet he has abandoned his wife and son in what he has proclaimed a torturous nation, to say nothing of the self-mutilating stitch-job.
To what will his protest amount when he dies of starvation in four days, or of infection and complications?
