Man o man I can't take the heat anymore!

So for the past several days, the A/C has been barely working. The high temperature outside has been in the mid 90s everyday and about 80 inside the house.
Today someone finally came out to look at it and tried to "fix" it, but now instead of barely working, the A/C doesn't work at all! Today the high got up to 96 and it was 86 in the house!

At least before the guy came, it would cool down at night even though it was highly inefficient, but now that it doesn't work it is still 82 up here at almost 1am!

Now that can't even come back till Friday :|
 
I feel like driving down to wal-mart and buying a window a/c unit and just return it after the central a/c is fixed.

sleep nude, on the floor, with a frozen rag on your forehead or back of the neck. helped when we were out of power for 2.5 weeks.
 
I was thinking about putting some ice packs under my sheets but that probably wouldn't be comfortable. I guess I'll go throw a towel in the freezer and wait for it to get nice and cold.

Hell maybe I'll just try to sleep in the freezer.
 
I would have left the house already to the nearest CostCo, Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Target for a window a/c.

They start at $89 for 5000 BTU.
 
Or at least get a fan for the time being....thats what I did...a/c stopped a few days back... Yesterday, the heat was unbearable so had to go to get a fan at 4:00am...
 
Well I've got my ceiling fan on high and a box fan in the window and its slowly cooling off. My bed is right next to the window so I don't really know how well I'd be able to fall asleep with an air conditioner buzzing right next to my head at least the fan is quiet... plus I'm too lazy to install one this late at night.. I just took a shower and don't feel like taking another one.
I took shimsham's tip and put a towel in the freezer and I put some ice packs on my bed and pillow to cool them down, and I will take them off and hop in bed and hope that helps me fall alseep and stay asleep.
Add a Sam Adams cherry wheat to that to cool me off :beer:
Well it's 1:36 and Conan is off so I'm gonna try to get to sleep now.. ugh
