Highly unlikely.

The only time I've heard of fires starting at gas stations like this is due to static electricity.

Mostly it's because someone get's in the car then gets out and then touches the nozzle.

I always touch a unpainted metal surface (pump station housing) before touching the nozzle....

To expand further, most of the victims (statistically) are women. Because they like to start pumping, get in the car, get out, get in, get out etc....

Cell phones of ANY era do not ignite gasoline. Thats some bullshit an idiot started a long time ago and nowadays most people dont even hear that lie anymore.

In fact in my town most pumps no longer have the warning sign for cellphones.
They still have the cigarette warning even though in practice its extremely difficult to light a puddle of gasoline with a smoldering butt.
