I'd like to see what an ARAW member would do if the thing was in their house....
What? Invite it to sit down and eat dinner or some S**T like that??

WTF. ARAW needs to get a life and the college student should be commended for defending himself from a Kodiak bear with a fvcking frying pan. They should make The Edge 2 and bring in Anthony Hopkins.

commended my ass, if he hadn't have thrown crap at the bear, they would have both been a lot safer. he's lucky he didn't get his ass mauled.

Interesting story.. anyways, it sounds like that kid was pretty brave, but also terminally clueless. (Is that standard for college-age kids these days?) I think that he at least deserves an honorary Darwin Awards nomination, even if the resulting outcome of the events precludes him from actually winning the award.

Was the salmon dinner in question, *that* good, that it was worth potentially risking your life over? I think I would have just let the bear chow-down, and left to get into my car to go to McD's instead.
Bah, the life of modern convenience...

Then again, if he didn't chase the bear, he probably would have come back to find the bear sitting on his couch, cracking open a Moosehead, and watching re-runs of The Bob Newhart Show on cable TV. :p

(Btw, yeah, I think a "Reality TV" show, putting animal-rights activists into mortal danger, being forced to defend their own lives against the animal creatures that they claim to support and protect, would get some great ratings. Call it "Us or Them!", or maybe just "Bob vs. the Bear!")

A search for the supposed animal rights group ARAW "Animal Rights Abuse Watch" turned up nothing but a couple copies of that same story. The organization doesn't seem to exist.

man.....I'm for animal rights and convicting jerks who abuse them or mess with their natural habitat (like a den with cubs), along the same lines I usually don't feel terrible about fools who get mauled after wandering into a bear's natural habitat (like a den with cubs)....but to say this kid committed an immoral act of killing a bear (that, incidentally, was trying to eat him.....and his salmon) in HIS house, HIS natural habitat, if you will, is complete bullsh!t. <--- is that a run on sentence? :p

Darcie needs to have a face-to-face heart-to-heart with a hungry Kodiac (edit: not zodiac, doh!).

"The would-be bear snack ran to the other side of the kitchen
counter as the bear raised up on it's hind legs and tried
swatting at him."

bwahahaha I knew the story was BS as soon as I read that. TRIED swatting? Like it's going to fail to do so? Drugs are bad mmk? The only thing I can't figure out is who uses more drugs, the idiots that believe this nonsense or the tard that made the whole thing up.
