SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- A 21-year old man was fatally stabbed Friday night after leaving the historic San Francisco Giants game where Barry Bonds hit his 700-th home run.
Police say Redwood City resident Timothy Griffith was killed and his friend badly beaten by three men in a parking lot on their way out of the game.
The incident happened at about 10 p-m, when Griffith and his friend were returning to their car across the China Basin channel near the ball park.
Police believe the two accidentally bumped into a car in which the three suspects were sitting. Words were exchanged before the three men grabbed Griffith and stabbed him repeatedly. They also knocked down his friend and kicked him unconscious.
It's believed to be the first homicide near the park since it opened back in 1990.
Police are asking the public's help in finding the three suspects, described to be men in their early 20s. Their car was believed to be a 1980s Toyota Sedan.
