Man is Doom3 a freaky game

Yea, Yea, I know Im about 2 years behind, but I finally got a rig that can run the game. It continues to scare the bejezus out of me, especially when those damn monsters keep popping out of the dark while I sit in my dark bedroom playing it.

I played Doom3 for about 20 minutes before I got tired of not being able to see sh1t. Seriously, how far in the future, and you're not able to duct-tape your flashlight to your gun?

I'm using the ducttape mod which attaches a flashlight to some of the weapons.

I didnt use the duct tape mod, but once you get past the start wher everything is going crazy and there is no power you dont really need the flashlight. I just might reinstall doom and play it again.

It definitely has a lot of jump out at you moments... but that's all it has. I feel like there was an over-reliance on having bad guys jump out of closets at you. I'd much rather have a game that scares me to the point where I open the closet and sh!t myself pre-emptively, only to find that there's nothing inside.

That's when you know your game is scary.

But having monsters jump out at you is what Doom is suppose to be.
