Reminds me of a gunpowder incident from a "friend" of mine. He and a buddy were going hunting with black powder muzzleloading rifles. On the way to the huntin' grounds, they realized they forgot the measuring flask. So they stopped at a small town pharmacy and asked for a measuring flask. They found one that had graduations in 'gms' (grams), which they though was the same as 'grains'. Well, when they were ready to hunt, they put the appropriate quantity of 'grains' down the barrel, and they thought it strange that the ramrod would only go down about 1/2 way..... Well, they then realized that perhaps the measuring was wrong - but what to do? The old rifles could not be 'unloaded' so they set it up in front of an old stump and tied a string to the trigger and let 'er rip. The resulting explosion lit a patch of dry grass on fire about 10 yards long, cracked the stock - but the heavy hexagonal barrelled rifle withstood the onslaught. Oh well, another Ka-Boom story.
