you can check out my system at http://www.placeitup.com/article_detail.asp?ID=ITM000202
I think it cost around 500 to build one for your car, total.😎

It is pretty tite. I can listen to music.
I don't know if I need gps for it? Should I get it? what are some good gps units for car pc?

Yeah while i can get internet if I am near my campus through wireless network but I still want to get internet on the freeway or some remote location. I currently have a samsung phone sgh-e16. Anyone know if this phone is capable of gsm?

Sorry for some folks, I have not write the review for olevia 30 inch I bought. it is worth buying it though. Sorry to disappoint some peeps.

I don't mean this as an insult, but you know you're a geek when...

I'm one to talk though, I just managed to get FedEx ShipManager software to work with no registration against the FedEx servers and it authenticates perfectly. (Mind you it's my job to mess with the software 😛)

Wouldn't it be simpler to buy a small laptop or pocket pc and use a hook device to hook it to the hud of the car.

While I disapprove of your using "tite" as an adjective, that's a very nicely done modification job. I'm going to say just get GPS though, and don't be playing videos while you drive. 😛

yeah, i don't drive and watch music vids. LOL, that would be awful. Well the car pc, for now, is very useful to store a bunch of musics, say 10 gigs worth of mp3 musics. I think I would install the tablet version OS for better navi. I also have a PDA and 3 laptops, one thing is that I don't like to connect things in and out of my car. It is a hassle. The PDA is equipted with gsm and wi-fi. When things get integrated, they should stay integrated for sure that is what I think. Having many attachments is messy.

That is very impressive. I'm surprised it only ran you $700... I need to go do something like that with my baby.
