Hey guys I just have to rant....

Yesterday I was minding my own business driving down the freeway and 3 god awfull Imports passed me.... (Civic's and Integra's) anyway it should be a crime to take a not bad looking car and changing it to "stockcar-neon-glowinthedark-advertisement-mobile"

So just a poll

Who likes the rice...?

mmm i like rice... especially with galbi-tang or kimchi jjigae

i have a 2000 silver civic EX coupe 5spd... it has 15" Honda SI aluminum wheels with Bridgestone Potenzas, Honda underbody kit, Honda OEM foglights, AEM Cold Air intake, Projector headlights with HID ballasts/bulbs, Neuspeed 2" race coils, koni yellow gas shocks, and a neuspeed short shifter kit.... no stickers... no weird noises or lights... would you call that rice? well it sits in the garage most of the time..... my yamaha yzf-r6 is much more convenient.

stock civic
rice civic
clean civic
somewhere inbetween
MONSTER civic

I saw a semi-riced integra a few days ago. This one DEFIENETELY had mods though...I'd be surprised if the quarter was more than ~13.5

How much faster in a quarter mile is a rice versus non-rice Honda Civic or Integra? Anyone have some actual numbers? Just curious what all the hoopla over ricing a car is about.

Stock integra ~ 15.5 - 16.8 (depends on model)
Stock civic ~ 15.6 (Si only) and 17+ other models

rice out and fast is quite okay .. but i prefer sleeper mode, no body kit etc but can be extremely fast with low 13 1/4 mile.

Sometimes the problem is not the car (although most are rather tacky) but the impudent punks who tend to use them. They think the car enables them to act like complete d*ckheads.

I hope your definition of 'rice' doesn't mean a modified import. I seem to think 'rice' as tacky taste... stickers...yellow and unpainted bodykits... wings that are hanging off...bumpers that are about to fall off due to heavy scraping and they actually leave it like that... sooo many... ugh...they make the whole import scene look ridiculous for those that actually know how to do it right.

Too far mods ie. Huge @ss spoilers that serve no reason, or "air intakes" on a car that does not use it, or even the stupid neon lights on the underside I consider rice. only a mod that will change HP or how it handles are worth it (in my opinion) I have seen a civic, lowered with huge exhaust, huge spoiler and stupid neon lights. and sadly it preformed just as good as my cavalier..... sad

thats where the phrase = "All show, no go" came about

i saw an integra the other day at meijers. Its body kit was held on by SCREWS GOING THROUGH THE KIT!!!! You could actually see the heads of the screws. I laughed my ass off!

AS i sit in my apartment, i am looking at a Toyota Tercel(i think) with nice hubcaps, 1 wiper, and ultra dark tinting. I'll get a pic of it.

100% correct.

Mods that had horsepower or performace are great. Visual things that do nothing are a waste.

The other day I even saw a person install a second non-functioning muffler just to make sure he car look faster I guess. What I really hate is those people putting on the big rear spoilers on totally riced out 4-cylinder cars. They make me laugh.

Actuall mods that make sense are ok, stupid mods that are done for the purpose of looking cool is public masterbation.
