well, the first one and the one that stands out the most is someone who uses her mouse backwards into like the buttons are facing her, and not only that she uses it in reverse motion, like right is left, down is up, and she always gets upset when i use her computer to fix some problem :(

im like im sorry!!

the other one is a left handed user that has her right and left button switched so it takes me a couple of tries to get it right, and then when i move from her computer to another i always end up messing up and have to concentrate to go back to the way the mouse works.

anyone else have any unusual user habits?

I remember where I used to work that we had a left hander who wanted to switch the button config on her mouse but the network strawboss had an absolute fit. I am left handed but have learned to be righty, but It still just blew my mind that they told her she couldnt change it....this among other things made me leave the company.

you mean ones that insist on putting thier OLD 5.25" floppies into thier new slot-load cdrom drives? or staple the disk to a memo? or use magnets on the side of thier computer to hold thier kids pics to it? Install see winzip on thier computer and assume they now have a 'zip drive'? I could keep this up for hours and hours... fixing computers in schools you get to see TONS of what we refer to as "UIE" or user induced error.

biohazard, we refer to those as CKI errors (or chair-keyboard interface errors) or PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard).

Then there's the ID10T error... You have to say this one out loud at first, then when you get the usual blank stare as a repsonse you have them write it down.
