I have 2, one has already been replaced 2x the other 1x, all RROD.

I don't even use them that often maybe 3 hours every 2 months. :(

YAY for RROD. Lucky me it's still under warrenty. I hope someday I get one that will not do this....

I guess me putting halo 2 in was just too much grafix for it to handle.

EDIT: now its really acting weird, RROD, but it seems to be working fine heh

What do you mean RROD but it seems to be working fine? If it's working fine, then you don't have the RROD. If you have the RROD, then it's NOT working fine. Either way, sounds like you're just getting really unlucky. Have you been sent a new console before or do they just keep trying to 'fix' the same one?

Honestly,, I think you guys must play so much to the point of too much. I've never had a console die on me except the playstation that i spilled milk on.

I love it when people think that EVERY one of the thousands of people who have had to send their system in fro RROD play too much or don't keep it ventilated enough.

I find it so dumb when people say things have gone smooth for them and nothing has ever failed on them.

It's bad for some, good for others, doesn't depend on your gaming habits or anything, I had 2 PS2s last gen, one died within a year with extreme care, the other is still running 5 years strong with a lot of negligence. The PS2's dreaded DRE was just as bad as the 360's RROD.

360's RROD are common enough to say it's a problem with Microsoft, not with people taking bad care of their consoles.

So you're the self appointed mother of all the RROD victims and you're telling all your kids they play too many games? Sounds like a logical conclusion to me. Except for the stuck up, pretentious nature of it all.

If it wasn't a problem with the console then MS wouldn't have extended the warranties for that purpose alone. They ADMITTED there was a problem, we KNOW there is/was one, and you STILL don't believe it?

Honestly. I think your anecdotally based conclusion is horse shit. Microsoft confesses that Xbox 360 has huge glitches: takes $1.15bn charge You thought your Xbox 360 broke down and that wasn't right? Microsoft agrees - there's a hardware fault that leads to an "unacceptable" failure rate. It won't kill the red ring of death... but it'll extend the warranty.

I don't know why people keep saying they are going to wait for the "new and improved" model as if it will be the one without any flaws. Simply not true.

Moreover, it's not like PS3s and Wiis don't fail. They definitely do, especially the former.

Fortunately, I've heard that Opus 360s are now starting to hit the refurbs, so you might get lucky and have your RRoD issues fixed permanently.

does the new 60GB model have the smaller die size for the CPU/GPU and therefore run cooler and have a lower chance of an RRoD?

Not yet. Someone opened up a 60GB not long after they first came out and it had the Falcon chipset. Expect to see the Jasper chipset sometime this month.

no luck would be winning the lottery. RROD on the other hand, is just ... common.
