Man, hot pepper oils are tenacious.

I was cutting up some hot peppers earlier today. I then washed my hands twice: first with dishwasher palmolive and the second time with regular antibacterial soap. I thought I really washed them very very well, all under the nails and lots of scrubbing.

It's still there. If I lick my fingers it's still hot. I've been scratching at some stubble and now my face is kinda burning.

The last time I did this I put in contacts. Talk about intense pain.

Any other ideas?

Even using some rubber gloves I had some habaneros that left my hands stinging for a good 10 hours.

Whatever you do, make sure you keep your fingers away from your eyes. And your woowoo.

wash it away with the natural tears produced by your body. you can do this by rubbing your fingers against your eyeball

If you make your own hot sauces, it affects the pans you cook the stuff in too. Eventually anything you make in the "hot sauce pan" comes out spicy.

lighter fluid + flame burns off the oils. And it leaves you without fingerprints for a while, a perfect time for a crime spree.

My iwfe RUINED an aluminum pan making jalapeno jelly one time...pitted the aluminum badly, left it looking burnt and scarred.(she threw out the batch of jelly too...didn't want to eat all that aluminum) I was amazed how much damage it did. From then on, only in a stainless steel pan.

Try rubbing your fingers in oil first... might lower the concentration of capsaicin. Alternatively, soak your fingertips in milk.

Heh..... reminds me of a friend of mine.... he was making fajitas or something, lots of hot peppers; washed his hands, yada yada...

he was fooling around with his girlfriend that night....getting hot (no pun intended, lol) and heavy, next thing he knows she's screaming, running to the shower and sitting down with a cold washcloth between her legs, screaming expletives at him.

He said he almost wet himself laughing so hard.

but I would definitely try the tears methods, just rub them all over your eyes.

Get industrial soap, that orange-scented kind with beads that scrubs basically anything off your hands?
