today, the gigabyte 8srx motherboard was DOA, and my 17 inch trinitron died 🙁. the gigabyte board is going back to mwave (and boy do they have a crappy RMA process compared to newegg) and i'm am going to have to use money i was going to put towards my credit card bill to buy a new monitor. man, what a day.

p.s. i'm going to get an asus P4B266-c to replace the gigabyte board, which is something i should have done first. on the bright side, i lapped my 1.6a and the heatsink, and on my friend system the proc is super stable at 2.133 gHz at default voltage. i didn't have time to do anymore testing, but the CPU seems like a winner 😀.
