Guy stops to take a leak and see's a bear, (apparently hurt somehow) resting, he then gets the bright idea to take a selfie with said bear. Bear is not amused and proceeds to maul + kill him, on-goers were taking video of the event but none tried to help. This happened in India BTW, https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...h-indian-man-who-tried-take-selfie/585843002/
My favorite part of the story, "The bear is being treated for its injuries"..
Found vid of incident, warning, very graphic, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf5G928jqJI

I have to imagine that if the bear somehow proceeded to maul the group filming their friend then ANOTHER group would be closeby filming that event.. while doing nothing to help out.

Yes. I suspect that in N. America that bear would have been put down as quickly as possible.
In N. America the bear would have been mauled by the guy.

Rocky Mountain Grizzly Bear
Jackson Hole, Wyoming

This bear was taken by world famous hunter and hunting guide C. Dale Petersen of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It is one of only two grizzlies known to have been killed "without" the use of modern weaponry. Verified by game biologists, Mr. Petersen killed this bear with his hands, and oddly enough, his teeth. It is known that this bear had been aggravated by a group of backpackers, shortly thereafter, Petersen, unaware of previous happenings, came upon the bear. A fight-to-the-death ensued. Petersen, having his right hand and arm wedged in the bear's throat, actually used his own teeth and jaws to pinch off the bear's jugular vein. When the bear passed-out from the lack blood flow to the brain, Petersen beat the bear in the head with a stick.

He was a small man. Embiggened by his noble spirit.

...as well as his pendulous swinging pair of tungsten testicles. Just imagine the kind of gumption it takes to advance on an attacking grzzly, with the intent to defend yourself with your teeth. And then he does it. I've been telling people about this guy forever and I still can't fully believe it.

'Merica. Fuck yeah.

On the one hand you could say the people filming instead of helping the guy were dicks, but would I really risk my life fighting an angry bear to (maybe) save a guy who provoked it to take a selfie?

Sure. But sometimes the Tiger comes to you:

At least he was wearing the brown the pants.

The elephant is like: "Dude, dude...you fucking dumbass! DUDE!"

should have tossed the human on the ground.

Well not sure what onlookers were going to do to assist, but on the other hand they sound just as stupid taking video instead of GTF out of there.

Photoshop saves lives! Think we need a Carry Law to make its use mandatory?

Here's a vid of event, the bear was not all that big actually and he was fully occupied with ravaging this dude, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf5G928jqJI

Sunbears aren't that big compared to other bears, but I've heard they make up for it with a pretty shitty temperament. IIRC they also have the biggest teeth relative to body size. I can't believe those people weren't even throwing things, rocks, shoes, anything! Wtf people! Help a moron out!

Yea, I thought the same thing, even if unsuccessful I'd feel a lot better about myself vs making sure I captured his death on video.
