Man, facebook chat is really bad

I mean, it's really awful. Who designed this POS? It's the only IM program I've ever seen that:

Constantly shows your friends as signing on and off when they aren't (and thus preventing you from sending IMs)

Often crashes your entire browser

Ignores any letters you type while it receives an IM (so whatever you were saying gets cut off)

Has to reload every time you navigate somewhere, even within facebook itself

Has a buddy list that won't fucking minimize half the time

Slows down every other application, ESPECIALLY facebook itself, to a ridiculous degree.

God...it's terrible! What were they thinking with this thing?

Sadly no, unless it's been moved somewhere I don't know about. my introduction to the internet forum world....I think I was 14 or 15 when I first joined the bleem! board.

yeah, it was my first intro as well. it looks like Richard "Paladin" Ma is still around (http://www.rpmfreelancers.com/) but he probably took down the bb a long time ago cuz nobody was using it. =\

I never use Facebook chat. I just don't see the point. If someone wants instant communication with me, use a real IM protocol or just call/text me.

It's great for me when I'm at work (no IM clients, I'm assuming this chat is Java). But man is it ever buggy. Scrolling up to reread posts gets shot back down as soon as the other person begins to type and/or enter. It never crashed my browser but it does constantly burps and prevents IMs from being sent or received.

I also wish there was a privacy preference. Hell I can put friends in certain groups to see certain parts of my profile but I can't let some people see whether or not I'm online.

Twas my first as well. I think I was like 13...maybe 7th grade. Wow, I'd forgotten about Paladin. It'd be a trip just to read some old usernames, I'm sure. What about PJ? I remember talking to him quite a bit.

I know this thread's dead, but jesus, it's gotten worse (fbook chat)--Now it deselects the window whenever you receive a new message! So now you have to click in the box again to start typing again and finish your sentence. What in the holy fuck are they thinking?
