hmmmmmmmmmm?

Lawrence Roach agreed to pay alimony to the woman he divorced, not the man she became after a sex change, his lawyers argued Tuesday in an effort to end the payments. But the ex-wife's attorneys said the operation doesn't alter the agreement

I say no unless she has the kids. If she has his kids I say yes and take the kids back.

I will simply copy over what I posted last night about this issue:

If it suffered from sexual identity issues before it married the man it entered into the contract of marriage under false pretenses. It is likely since gender identity issues usually don't just pop up in middle age. It is responsible for the marriage breaking up and it sounds like the marriage was doomed to fail from the start and all because the "it" had undisclosed issues. It should not receive any alimony on that basis alone and I sure hope the man doesn't get stuck paying for the surgery it had.

The ex does not need the alimony payments if she has enough money for such an unnecessary operation.

And I shall simply reply the same way I did when you posted that last night.

Why? It is an unnecessary operation unless your goal it to be a freak and become truly sexually ambiguous. No man or woman should have to pay for their spouse's willful transformation into a Carnival sideshow. I am probably one of the few people here that actually knows someone like this. He was one of my best friends for many years and now he is simply a freakish it.

Remember there's two sides to every coin. To you it's unnecessary. To them it may literally feel like they're being tortured being stuck in the body they currently are in.

Having your balls removed, your penis sliced open and the core removed to create and artificial vagina and the remaining skin tissue folded to create faux labia seems a lot more torturing.

Alimony is bullcrap anyway in 99% of cases

The fathers that SHOULD be paying alimony are the ones that can't be found

Now what I find interesting about the article it this:
noted that appeals courts have declined to legally recognize a sex change in Florida when it comes to marriage. The appellate court "is telling us you are what you are when you are born," St. Arnold said.
I'd like to see someone try and use that to get around laws banning same-sex marriage. Doesn't matter that there are dangley bits now, since one partner was originally a woman, it'd technically be legal.

Alimony is not child support; it is spousal support.

Which is why, in the majority of cases, it's an even bigger crock.
