Romano Dias, 55,was given bottle of what appeared to be a fruit-based drink by his daughter
It had been delivered to her home in a package showing the correct address but the wrong name
After drinking half a glass of the drug Mr Dias began to feel ill and died shortly afterwards

She said he took a mouthful of the drink and had said that it tasted 'awful' before complaining that his throat was burning.

He then said: 'I am in trouble here. I am dying, I am dead.'

A tragic case, but it certainly sounds like a potential contender for a darwin award.

Sounds like an honest mistake. A pretty horrible one too. I thought the Darwin Awards were usually given to folks who say
"hold my beer, and check this out.."

you obviously didn't even read the thing you're commenting on.

Mr Dias’s partner Debra Dulson said in a statement that he had opened the bottle and found a cork under the cap.

At first I thought the daughter may have been a little kid but after reading through the entire article, she sounds like an adult. They kept referring to the home as being the daughter's. So she's the dumb one in this case. Don't know why she didn't just throw out the package after keeping it for six months, and nobody claiming it. No way I'd serve anybody anything that had come unlabeled, random in the mail.

She now has to live with the knowledge that she killed her father.

Likely in her mind she got a package, kept it just to see if the carrier returned for it instead of doing the moral thing of doing it herself and after a while opened it up and kept it for 3 years as it's labeled some sort of healthy drink , thinking of it when perhaps her father talked about herbal health stuff and said, oh hey, I got something you might like.
Or she gave it to him to murder him along with the story which turned out to be the perfect crime. All this time and the perfect murder is so short and simple.

What this really shows is that you can transport illegal drugs in high quantities by mail by simply putting it in a wine like bottle and labling it as some natural remedy. The Cartel's have been doing it the hardway for years.

Yeah does not really change much. And he's the one that drinked it, I don't know how the daughter even falls into this picture other than the fact that she was the first to find the package in the mail.

Article does NOT add up. At one point it says he had half a glass, another it tasted awful after one cap.

And obviously who drinks something random in the mail that says health drink, I mean come on. There is some skulduggery afoot here.

Yeah, this is most definitely not the whole story.

My guess, daughter was storing meth in liquid form for a dealer/cook/distributor boyfriend and daddy got into the stash thinking it was a normal bottle of water/juice.
