<< An Orange man was convicted in federal court Wednesday of running the county's largest methamphetamine ring, and his parents were convicted of laundering some of the millions of dollars that prosecutors said he netted.
>>
<< The complex case was built on 12,484 wiretapped conversations, including 90 that were played at the six-week trial. Ward's ring was helped by such diverse individuals as Orange County Hells Angels president Howard (Rusty) Coones and Deputy Orange County District Attorney Bryan Kazarian.
Kazarian, who was fired after his June 1999 arrest, testified against Ward and faces 23 years in prison for tipping him that an informant was helping police against him. Coones, who was sentenced to eight years in prison for possession of 106 pounds of the regulated pharmaceutical ephedrine, refused to testify against Ward.
>>
I for one am damn happy that today's law enforcement community seems ready and willing to clear it's ranks of criminals!!
Hopefully "Blue Flu" and the "Code of Silence" will just be a bad memory of the past.
