Fuckin' weak. I understand why he took the plea deal. I wouldn't want to have to sit in front of 12 idiots either, but it never should have gotten as far as it did. Disgraceful....

The plea deal seems a tad harsh considering the school let him in to film without really authorizing how it's used. Also, he didn't really do anything complicated to make it look like the children were listening like complete CG cut and paste.

UPDATE:
Follow Up of the Day: 21-year-old comedian/musician Evan Emory, who was charged with “manufacturing child sexual abusive material” for editing a YouTube video to appears as if he was performing an explicit song before elementary school children, was sentenced to spend 60 days behind bars as part of a plea deal to avoid a significantly harsher ruling.
In addition to his two months in the slammer, Emory received two years probation, 200 hours of community service, mandatory counseling, and was ordered to pay fines and cover the cost of the trial. The one bright spot is that Emory will not be required to register as a sex offender, though he will have to remain 500 feet from children under 17.

American prosecutors can railroad people, as long as they're not rich enough to mount a decent defense. He's lucky he won't have to register as a sex offender, considering he has a piece of shit tyrant of a prosecutor out for blood.

I think what the guy did was plain fucking stupid...but to charge him criminally is even more stupid.

This guy is a fool. He needs to stand up for his rights. The Supreme Court has ruled that "virtual" or "faked" child porn is not illegal.

note it was jail, not prison, but still obscenely excessive. I understand why he took the plea though. Risking 20 years when they offer two months is hard to turn down, even if you are pretty sure you would win.

He's still classified as a felon until probation is lifted. Horse crap. He should have taken it to court.

I still dont understand how he can even be charged with anything, its not like he did anything illegal. All he did was make a video of him sing to children and then edited it, which is perfectly legal since the school authorized the song and filming of it. Honestly Id take it all the way I could. Since when is it illegal to post videos of people in a public place and editing it however you like? Why stop there and take all film producers to jail for editing their work?
