I was bit about 4 times by a pissed off coral snake one time. I felt pretty quesy for a few days. But those coral snakes have nothing on a brown snake. One of those tagged me twice in the Outback and I was pretty sick for a few days.

From what I understand, the little ones can be more dangerous. Adult snakes don't inject venom with every strike ... maybe sort of a warning strike as they describe in the story. But young snakes almost always do.

Wow, I wouldn't have killed the snake... I'd have attempted to keep it as a pet. "excuse me, could you scan this and find the price on it please?"

I wouldn't sue were I the victim in this case since it was not negligence on Lowe's part. Hopefully they will at least compensate him with a high limit gift card or something. Freebies are always nice. ;)

wow your lucky... I assume you took the antivenom pretty quick with those. I was fishing when I got bitten, there were weeds up to my waist and I didn't even see it until it was too late. Those are some pretty serious snakes that bit you.

I'd rather go to Lowe's and get bitten by a rattlesnake than even walk in the door at Walmart.

Yep. The adult snakes ration the venom out, as they know they don't need to "empty the whole clip" just to off a rodent - plus they have more for defence as well. A young snake will pump in all the venom.

Well, I run into 18 inch Rattelsnakes from time to time when mountain biking or nature walks. I don't freak out as they're usually very timid.

They rattle their tail when passing but since they're small and their strike distance is very short, it really isn't an issue unless you run directly onto them.

I stay in the middle of trails, b/c it has been my experience they like the bush for shelter.

........now Cobras are a different thing. I saw them in India while on vacation and they can move pretty fast and are more aggressive. Plus their strike distance is respectable.

OMG.. hilarious.. I give you a 10 for making me cough on my rice and getting hot sauce down the wrong pipe.

EDIT: Nevermind.. you don't have user ratings.. You suck and your comment was stupid.

Any guy that claims he's got an 18" rattlesnake in his pants is more than likely just smuggling around a 2" mealworm with delusions of grandeur.
