WOODBRIDGE, Va. -- A policeman in Prince William County, Va., arrested a teenager for drunken driving, twice in a relatively short period of time.

Authorities said 19-year-old Reginald Cook was arrested for driving under the influence. They said Cook left his car in the parking lot at a shopping plaza, while officers took him in for processing.

Officials said he was released about 20 minutes later, but he returned to the parking lot and got back behind the wheel of his car.

The same officer who arrested Cook the first time spotted him behind the wheel of his car and hauled him in again.

Police said Cook is being held without bond, and his car seized for 30 days.

In Huntington Beach, CA, there was an incident a few year's back when someone was released from the drunk tank and got in an accidetn on the way home. I can't remember the details, but either the guy released or the person hit sued the PD for letting him out before he sobered up. Basically, the fellow believed himself sober upon release. Since then HBPD has a mandatory 8 hour minimum in the tank before letting a person out.

This particular guy was a dumbass but seriously, if he was already inebriated...WTF were they doing letting him out and giving him hte keys? That's just utter stupidity.

They let a drunk 19 year old go? Shouldn't they have hauled him in?

Difference between drunk and driving under the influence.

He may have been able to walk, call for a ride and/or taken a bus to get home.

sounds like the cop set him up.. haha... if he was already drunk, his judgement wouldn't be so great, and i'm assuming he thought he was good to drive b/c the cop let him go...
