Timothy Randall Clark was arrested on theft charges after police said he tried to steal more than $500 in Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 games and equipment at the same time that law enforcement authorities were holding their "Shop With A Cop" community program, according to a Charles County Sheriff's Department press release.
The store's loss prevention unit discovered the 22-year-old cutting open and shoving video games and accessories into his shirt. An employee told a nearby officer, who nabbed Clark before he could leave, the Huffington Post reported.
"Shop With a Cop" is a national event where law enforcement officials spend time with needy or neglected children in their area, taking them on various outings including shopping sprees at popular stores.
