CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – A Goose Creek man got to spend some time behind bars after he allegedly took off his pants and defecated on the floor of a downtown Charleston hotel early Sunday morning.

According to Charleston police, 31-year-old Ronnie Lee Warfield was arrested and charged with public defecation and indecent exposure after an incident in the lobby of the Francis Marion Hotel.

When officers arrived at the hotel around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, they found a "large quantity of fecal matter" on the lobby floor just a few feet from the bathroom. A security guard told officers the man who had defiled the lobby floor was in the bathroom, the report states.

An officer walked into the bathroom and found Warfield cleaning himself in one of the stalls; the door was open and he was exposed to anyone walking in, according to the report.

"I didn't mean to do it," Warfield reportedly told the officer. "I couldn't hold it."

The report states Warfield was detained once he had put his pants back on, and another officer talked to the hotel's night auditor about what she saw.

Warfield reportedly interrupted them, telling the hotel employee: "I can clean it up."

According to the report, hotel employees told police they watched Warfield from the hotel's camera system. He was trying to enter the code for the restroom door and appeared to be having trouble, so he took off his pants and defecated on the lobby floor.

Employees offered the surveillance footage to police and asked that Warfield be banned from the hotel.

Warfield was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center for holding. His bond was set at $940.

He should have just claimed to be a Chinese tourist.

http://onehallyu.com/index.php?/topic/54567-why-chinese-tourist-unwelcomed/

thai media reported the annoyance caused by chinese tourists as the city became popular after the comedic movie 'Lost in Thailand' hit china. complaints range from 'didn't flush the toilet, 'ripped the package to test the food inside', 'took a shower in the toilet with bidet shower'. 'drove wildly', 'ordered a table-full course but denied to pay', 'took photos in classroom during a lecture (chiangmai university was shown in the 'lost in thailand and become a popular destination since)' and recently a chinese tourist was caught (and fined for) defecating into the moat of chingmai city.

What else was he going to do? Sounded like he really had to go. Didn't think you can get arrested for that.

Actually, why would they even call the police for that? Just get it cleaned up and be done with it. Kind of their fault for putting a passward on the bathroom. The employees watching him could have sent somebody out there to help him out atleast.

LOL, are you nuts? A case? LOL

Since this was in the lobby, the hotel is restricting the bathroom to the hotel tenants. This solves the issues of homeless or people of the street using the hotel's bathroom supplies.

Heh that policy ended with somebody shitting on their floor. They may want to rethink that policy.

Given that camera footage showed him trying to get into the bathroom first and having trouble with the code, and then his offer to clean it up, it sounds like an accident. How humiliating for the guy.

Kansas City Royals player George Brett once pooped his pants in a Vegas hotel, and apparently tells the story to anybody who will listen. Happens to the best of us I supposed. :hmm:

Except for the fact that almost every hotel in America has keypads or card readers on the outside of the building for this very purpose. They usually activate after a certain time and stay active all night, beginning anywhere from 10pm-midnight. Once you are inside the building, there should no need to restrict public areas like bathrooms. Dumb hotel is dumb.
