My bad the father was right, it does take more time to strangle a kitten than to beat one to death. They are pretty agile and claw like hell when you try to strangle them, got at least a dozen good scratches on both hands.

Sounds like the father caught the kitten chewing and flung it away. Incidentally, it suffered terminal trauma and the father put it out of it's misery. The son, a drug addict, that caused emotional instability pulled a knife, went to jail and then came out and killed himself.

I love cats, but I'm going to side with the dad, probably, no real harm intent was intended and he did what he had to do. Humans>Pets>Livestock>Wild animals>other living things

They should have put aluminum foil on the oxygen tube, then the kitty would not have chewed it and everyone would have lived happily ever after. :)

so...the cat nearly caused the mom to die, the father killed the cat in revenge, the son threatened his father with a kitchen knife for murdering the cat and then committed suicide?

gee. the guy shouldn't have killed the cat, but the cat did after all threaten the mom's wife. it's just a cat though. the mother is more important. but wtf with the kid shooting himself? weird.

I don't even want to venture a guess why the mother was on oxygen.

maybe cause she was just released from the hospital? Reading comprehension ftw.

Well then I guess everyone who is released from the hospital is released on oxygen? Right?
She is not on oxygen because she was released from the hospital. She is on oxygen because something is wrong with her that requires her to be on oxygen.

Impressive diagnosis made from reading the article. There could be numerous causes for being on oxygen after being in the hospital (could have had something as simple as a clot) aside from having a chronic condition. Could always been chronic (obesity, shrug) who knows, but even if it was, why does that matter? Then add the fact that this is in Boulder, CO... mile high? Even more reasons for some people to be on oxygen.
