Mamba versus GeekLog

I have yet to find a problem with Nucleus.

The first CMS I tried out was Nucleus, but I had 2 problems with it. One was the templating system, had a lot of redundant configurations that needed maintained and it drove me crazy. Plus, I had an odd glitch with URL's in my articles - sometimes they would just disappear.

Well my blog pretty much uses the default template still, although I intend to change it over once I come up with a suitable design....I haven't encountered the URL prob tho

Installed, but yet to use Geeklog. I would recommend it if you were looking for options. LMK if you have any specific questions. I installed it on my 1and1 account and it was a bit of a hassle.

I have questions. 🙂

Why did you choose GeekLog?

Well, I had not (until yesterday) heard of Mamba or Nucleus. My choices were between PHPnuke and postNUKE. I stumbled upon geeklog.net one day and the layout catered to what I was looking for.

If you're looking for a lot of different add-ons or tweaks, you might try PHPnuke. I didn't choose it because it seemed too robust for what I was interested in doing, which was a site among close friends to keep in touch with each other.

If I had known about Mambo, I might have looked into it further.

I didn't choose postnuke or phpnuke also because I had heard there were security holes in them. Whether or not that is true, I'm not sure.

I am happy with the choice I made though.

If you'd like to see the site I have using GL PM me and I'll show it to you.

Watch out, the default template in Nucleus has a problem because they didn't space out the divs right - can't copy text from the page.

I've seen his site which is hosted by 1and1, with 5GB bandwidth I don't think that will be an issue.

So far I really like GeekLog and axonz.com
