He bragged to the police on the phone that he was involved in a murder in Montgomery, AL. The investigators had a finger print from the site in Montgomery and ran a match. The computer matched the finger print to Malvo in few hours.

I was just thinking why the cops in Montgomery did not run a finger print match on the computer after the killing in AL? they would have prevented 10 killings.

Hindsight is 20/20 isn't it? Don't blame the murders of 10 people on the police.. Malvo did the killings.. you should be angry at him.. not what the police may have missed.

Did Malvo have a police record on file with his fingerprints before he got caught for being the sniper?
If not, would they match his fingerprints from his birth certificate?

He had his fingerprints with INS. Investigators checked the INS database after the sniper these incidents.
Why wouldnt they check the database after the montgomery murder? The freaking neural networks have made the finger print matching very easy and fast.

because when you match fingerprints to a crime scene, the criminal is shut down via remote terminal and a dozen agent smiths show up?

or do u mean they caught malvo before and let him go out the revolving door to murder 10 more?
