Here's a weird one...
My housemate Dan has had trouble with two USB wireless network adapters. The first was Netgear brand. It worked for a few months (maybe a year), then just stopped. Afterword, I couldn't make it work on my computer either. Just the other day, he bought a replacement. It's Trendware. It worked well until he restarted his computer. Then, nothing. Again, can't install it on other computers. Has anyone ever heard of USB ports that destroy the devices connected to them? He wants to send the thing back for repair, but if this theory is correct, the next one will die also. Any way to test?
