Dr Bryan Sykes, professor of genetics at Oxford University, says that males are becoming extinct. Hurry up guys. Looks like you only have 125,000 more years to hang around. :D

Here.

"Sykes uses his own research to show that the all-important male Y-chromosome is degenerating as it advances through evolution, rendering men infertile with increasing frequency, and the female X-chromosome (mDNA), which has a "twin" and can repair itself to minimize bad mutations, is slowly taking over. In other words, women are winning the evolutionary battle of the sexes."

Frankly, I wouldn't want to exist in a world run entirely by women anyway. Perhaps we're better off.

die out. so much for the battle of the sexes. :p

Well, now that we know how to clone mammals, cloning humans can't be too far off. :)

cloning would suck. everyone would be the same.

meh, I agree being in a world run entirely by women would suck, and I am one lol. Doesn't matter to me if men die off once I'm dead, I've got the one I want so I know I won't be missing anything:)

the nice thing is, the guy's sperm determines the sex of the baby :p

but I wouldn't mind a ratio of 1 guy : 2 women. hehe.

I was just talking about this subject this morning. Huh? Women already make up something like 51% of the population. I think that the species is heading toward a single sex. Reproduction would be far more efficient but less fun.

If we get to a point where women are 52% of the population in my lifetime, I want out ASAP!

Hmm...from what I see in the news daily, the one being run by men isn't doing so hot. :)

Think about this for a second. The ratio of women to men is 5 to 1. THINK about that. ;)

The theory is hogwash. The reason that infertility is increasing is because we're living in a world of estrogens right now - xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens. This trend of using Soy as a filler for everything (or the main ingredient), and the overuse of Ginseng as supplements or additive to drinks - combined with the use of plastics as containers or container liners for our food/drink products - is what is causing it.

I think there have always been more women, since men have generally lived a little more dangerous of a lifestyle. Going to war, working in factories and hunting wolly mammoths isn't so good for survival.

the women are gonna be in real trouble... 100,000 years from now the highways will be full of stranded women with flat tires!

I *believe* I saw something on this, that basically said more boys are born than girls...but since men tend to die more often (for the above stated reasons) we end up with more women when all is said and done.

LOL...

And no one will be able to eat pickles, jelly or anything else that comes in a jar. And furniture movement, without a man to do the actual backbreaking work, will come to a standstill.

Actually I think it's because men get to a point in their lives when they just can't deal with it anymore and want out!

dont' worry, China the other Asian countries are killing off enough girl babies to counteract this phenomen.

result, many many asian men, no asian women. rest of the world, more women then men.

Plus metrosexuals, who are increasing in number, have less testosterone than either of my two female cats, and they drag the numbers down too.
