My laptop has a female vga out port on it and my new dlp bigscreen tv has a female vga in on it. If i find a male to male vga cable, will everything work??
thanks

They're almost always male->male cables, except for extenders, which are male->female. I've never seen a device with a "male" VGA plug.

It should work, as long as your laptop can put out a resolution that the TV can display. Some are pretty picky. I'd check over at AVSForum if you're really serious about doing this, as there can be a lot of things that need to be tweaked.

I don't work for cables for less, but that's a nice place to get cables.

Matthias is right...going to AVSforum would be a very good idea for finding resolution, timing, and other tweaks that you're going to need.
