I'm looking for a good adapter that allows me to output music from my Droid 4 to my car's iPod input. The 3.5mm cable already in place is very short and distracting to try to skip a song while I'm driving. Is there an adapter out there that allows me to play music through the iPod input as well as allowing me to use the skip functionality (from the car's controls) of my android phone? Bluetooth refers to this as "AVRCP" support.

The only product I've found close to this: http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-iSRX.../dp/B00A0XTVUW

But that has almost no reviews whatsoever so I'm a little hesitant to buy that without knowing anything further.

Just by virtue of the programming behind the cars audio system, there's no way you're going to be able to use something as simple as a cable unless the audio system was designed to take some sort of standardized commands instead of apple-specific ipod support. Your best bet is to consult the operators manual for your car to see exactly what the sound system supports.

I keep one of these in my car and use it with my normal suction-cup dashboard phone holder thing that I put it in to use as a GPS. Works just fine regardless of whos phone you want to use and doesn't cost a fortune.
