oh, and to answer your question, I believe there's a pill, and a drug that they inject into your tallywhacker. Google for "male birth control".

it seems to me that having both the guy and girl take birth control would be ideal. I mean, if 5 out of 100 people who rely on the pill get pregnant every year...that seems a bit high to risk it.

I sure hope it becomes widely available soon! The sooner the better! It might change the number of unwanted pregnancies--on the male end--dramatically. No more instances of women going off the pill and not telling their boyfriends because they want to get pregnant, enslaving a man for 18+ years of child support payments and ruining his life. It would provide more freedom for men to be able to enjoy the pleasures of sex without having to worry about the economic destruction and misery caused by an unwanted pregnancy. Also, men can't have abortions either, so if a woman wants to have a child over a man's heavy protests, his life is over.
 
Its 1,000,000x harder to make a male BC. Females have one egg while man have millions of sperms in each ejaculation. Even if it does get made, there will be a high percentage of failures.
 
I've read this in the paper couple days ago, a company is given over a million bucks to test a silicon plug thats inserted in your you-know-what....
