I think confirmed is a pretty strong word since everyone knew it was. When is the only question to be answered.

The game has not been officially confirmed by Rockstar or Take Two. So, it's really considered speculation at this point. Do I think it's being made? Of course it is, but that doesnt mean squat.

Glad I don't have to wait. My computer probably couldn't run it well and after using a pressure sensitive throttle, tapping WASD to move doesn't feel as good anymore.

Every GTA game since 3 has been ported so no surprise. I think Christmas is a reasonable bet.

Vice City Stories was never ported to the PC, it wasn't a bad title actually. Nowhere near as big as IV so I suspect a IV port is coming.

I think the other GTA games have taken about 6 or 7 months.

"STORIES" come on man, learn to read.

So to please your little heart I looked up the difference with "stories". Seems that it was nothing more than "city" stripped down for the PSP. So I think that the collective point stands that everything GTA has been made for the PC.

Stories had a different plot, and different missions ect. It wasn't just a lite version of Vice City, it took place in Vice City but it was a different game.

I thought GTA 3 was brilliant on the PC....Vice City was even better. I have yet to play San Andreas though.

In fact I think Vice City may have been one of the better converted ports I have ever played....taking a Gamepad scheme over to mouse and keyboard and even allowing joysticks.

It's troubling to see your obstinance in the face of clear error and refusal to gracefully accept when you are wrong extends across the entire spectrum of forums at AT.

Yeah VC: Stories as well as Liberty City: Stories were developed for PSP and due to their success were ported only to PS2. I was more referring to the GTA games that came out on the home console versions first, i.e GTA3, VC, and SA, all of which did get ported to PC, so I fully expected IV to make it over too.

I thought all the GTAs were ported pretty well. I actually prefer playing them on PC so I can use the mouse.

Aiming is pretty cool on the PC but driving is not as smooth and precise, I still prefer Grand Theft Auto with a gamepad and auto-targeting, to me driving is one of the greatest joys in GTA.

Combining a gamepad and a keyboard/mouse is feasible and offers the best of both worlds, precise aiming+precise driving :D

i never played vice city, but i remember running gta3 and it ran like crap and the controls were beyond obnoxious.

Auto-targeting? Why bother playing a shooting game if you let it auto-target? As for driving, I was able to drive very well with the arrow keys. In fact having played Mercenaries on the PS2...I thought comparing driving the Mercenaries vehicles with an analog stick to driving the GTA vehicles with my arrow keys....I would much rather drive using the arrow keys.

I don't see shooting as the focus of GTA, and because of that, I find auto-targeting works just as well.

And mind you, I HATE console FPS because of auto-aim and unprecise analog sticks but that's because those are games where shooting and aiming are essential to the experience.

I used the auto-aim about half the time, but tried to use free-aim as much as I could. Free-aim was a lot better since the auto used center-mass as the target. I like to justidy auto-aim with the idea that if I had a mouse, I would have made the shot. All-in-all, it did work really well and was easy to switch between on the PS3 controller; haven't tried 360.
