KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Officials in a southern Malaysian state will soon enforce a new law that forbids people to wash clothes, cook or light a fire in public toilets, a news report said Wednesday.

The law will allow fines of up to 1,000 ringgit (US $263) for anyone deemed to have abused restroom facilities, said Low Boon Hong, a government official in Johor state, 300 miles south of Kuala Lumpur.

Offenses under the law include failing to flush, vandalism, spitting and littering ? as well as more irregular behavior in toilets such as bathing, cooking, washing clothes and lighting fires, Low was quoted as saying by the Bernama national news agency.

Hell, we need that law here...I've seen some scary looking public restrooms in the US on my travels.
 
I guess it's habits like this that helps explain all the rampant disease in third world countries.

in that part of the world restrooms are called "toilets." so, they don't literally mean the commode.

Okay, stop bashing my country please, I'm from malaysia!
The people who are crazy enough to do all sorts of stuffs are not malaysians but immigrants from indonesia, bangladesh, nigeria, philipines and many more, most of them are illegal immigrants.

They are homeless so they have no choice. We're trying to send them back to their country but they you know, they're always running away and in hiding. Sometimes, they even fight back and cause injuries to the officers from immigration department. Some of the guys are so horny that they flash to school kids and even rape them.

End public service announcement.

actually that would explain the behavior of some of the people i work with...as well as the clotheline, rubber duckies, and cooking smells in our office bathroom

I walked into a rest room at a Cub Foods grocery store, and there was this naked old dude giving himself a towel bath at the sink with the paper towels. His clothes were in a pile in the corner. It was slightly shocking, but I just said fsck it, went in, took a whiz, and walked out.
