Every single civ game bar civ 1 i have bought and every time i install and play it theres no brittish! Instead AGAIN its only england. Which sucks as it means poor scotland and wales are left out. I wanna make a brittish civ, and since civ 4 is apparently the most customisable civ yet i should be able to. No idea how though, cant find any editior program like the one that came with alpha centauri. Anyone else managed to somone make their own civ? If so, how?

Awsome game btw, despite the lack of britain.

English PoV (Geordie, close enough to Scotland to understand :))

Britain..... Im glad theres no British leader. England, Scotland, Ireland (both of them) and Wales have been separate enough over the years, especially with William Wallace and Hadrians Wall (to keep the Scots out of Roman England).

To be honest, they added in Civilisations such as Mali and Persia.... Why these and why not Scotland? The only famous Scottish Leader I can think of at the moment is William Wallace (Braveheart movie for those who dont know) and the Scottish are quite important from my point of view.

One of my major gripes is not the countries in general, its the lack of leaders. Most of my examples will be WW2 linked since thats the easiest subject for me to remember. Wheres Churchill? Prime Minister who kept a nation's morale high when they were being bombed day by day for years. Rommel? Sherman? Rommel was a great General and Sherman had a tank named after him, so he had to be special.

Plus, they called it CiviliZation again :( It wouldnt be that hard to add in an English (UK) translation package for games.

Sorry, I havent figured out how to make my own Civilsation yet, I havent actually checked.

Go to civfanatics.com & search the forums. There are a ton of mods for playing with certain civs, playing on the British Isle map, etc. This is for civ2/civ3(vanilla/ptw/conq.) of course.

There's a great built in editor for civ3, & there is something for IV I believe:

Customization

Civilization IV will be the most customizable version of Civ yet! There are four levels of customization. In the first and easiest level, players can use the built-in World Builder to create new custom maps to play in single player and multiplayer games. In the second level, players can edit the game's XML data files using notepad or a XML editor to change the game parameters -- nothing in the game is hard-coded. In the third level, players can edit the game's python scripts to change map generation, the interface, game events, etc. Finally, at the fourth level, players with programming experience can even change the AI and all the game rules using the Civ4 Game/AI SDK (Software Developers Kit). In other words, you can pretty much change everything you want and even build a game based loosely on Civilization.

You've probably already found this but here is a step by step tutorial on creating an entire new Civilization for Civ IV.
