Huh? You mean is it legal to make a U turn when the center line is dashed (passing lane)?

Driver manual

You may make a U-turn:

*Across a double yellow line, if the turn can be made safely and legally.

In a residential district:
* if no vehicle approaching you is closer than 200 feet.
* whenever a traffic sign or signal protects you from vehicles which are close.

* At an intersection on a green light or green arrow unless a ?No U-turn? sign is posted.

On a divided highway. Don?t drive over or across any dividing section, curb, or strip. This includes:
two sets of double lines marking a center divider unless an opening is provided for turns.
the unpaved median in the middle of the freeway.

Just don't try that in most states. . . Double yellow generally means do not cross that line, unless for a left turn into/out of a driveway.

Was about to say the same thing. All depend son the state. in WI you can't make a U Turn at any intersection with a stop light (retarded) and other things as well.

I actually got off a illegal u-turn ticket because it said left turn only. there was no "no U-turn" sign at the time. Took it to court and won. If you live in poway, Ca the NO U-Turn sign at ted williams and twin peaks is mine. It went up 2 weeks after I won in court ;)

I know you can legally cross a double yellow in NJ and NY because I got that question wrong on the written test. You are allowed to do it if you are entering into a driveway.

people misunderstand the double yellows....the law is mostly that you cannot PASS someone by crossing them.
