Making the switch from Opera

Giving up my beloved opera to give firefox and thunderbird a try. so i had a few questions about both programs

For firefox, what good extensions are there? So far I have Adblock and All-in-one gestures. not sure what else i need. I've made some tweaks that have been posted to speed up FF while limiting its ram usage as well.

for thunderbird, i have imap and pop accounts, is there anyways to have them show up under 1 "new mail" window rather than have all the pop accounts under local folders and the imap account separately? In Opera when you check for new mail, all the new mail from all the accounts are listed in one inbox window and i really liked that since i dont have to click through each one to check.

AdBlock
CustomizeGoogle
FireFTP
FlashGot
Image Zoom
No Script
LinkChecker (if you maintain a web site with a lot of links)
TorButton (if you run the VIdalia bundle of Privoxy+Tor)
ZoTero (if you are a student or do any research in your work)
Mostly Crystal theme (same also for Thunderbird e-mail client)

I tried FireFox. I hated it. It was like old Netscape Explorer and it crashed on me all the time. I went to Opera and haven't looked back. Opera is great. The only problem I occasionally have is with flash, and that's pretty rare.
