Making Sure everyone know Cannon S200 for 169 w/o REbates

I know this is kind of a repost but its just that the other post's title says A40 for 199, most people wouldn't know unless they read the whole post.. it kind of lead to S200 for 169 from different buyers and expirences at the end of the post.

Well, this is how it works.....its Offical that OM is subsituting the S200 for the A40, Each store got a fax telling them to do it. So just walk in there and ask for the A40, which is on sale for 199. They will tell you its out of Stock but here, we have an S200 for you. Take the S200 and show them this coupon

go to FW and type in staples coupons online

I did this deal with no problem, I know 3 in my area and all of them accepts coupons from Stapple and Office depot.

Total 199 -30 = 169 + tax for brand new S200

Can anyone clarify the "Staples Coupon" thing?

EDIT: Will OM actually take Staples coupons, and why?

I found a store nearby that has a couple of these. I'm looking to get two; one for me and one for my g/f. If we each buy one (and pay separately), do you think OM will honor a Staples coupon for me and for her? If they do accept competitors' coupons, then they should, but I'm just wondering...

Anyway, this is great. This is an awesome camera. I'm actually moving from a G2, which is too big to be functional for me.

I don't see why they wouldn't honor both coupons, but you might want to go through the checkout at different times. :)

I tried asking for the s200 at 2 om stores near me that were oos of the a40 and they insisted that there was no substitutions for the a40. I guess they are lying or don't know what the heck is going on.

First one I tried was the B'klyn store (only one), and the girl actually hung up on me. She too was insisting they didn't have a substitute.

I got the Office Max on FM 1960 across from Willowbrook Mall to accept the Staples $30 off $150 coupon.... Will go back tonight, and see if I can get the s200 :)

all these camera deals...there had better be some new ones at the end of summer, when I'm buying mine. I'll just use my sister's A40 til then I guess ;)

I just got back from the OM store in Orange CT. The manager was very helpful. Both the S200 as a substitute, and Staples coupon were accepted . Thanks to whomever brought this deal to our attention.

IgoByte - They were lying dude. I saw the substitution list in the manager's hand at the Lake Forest, CA store.

I just got back with the s200 in hand :) And they accepted the staples coupon with no complaints.
My walkout price was $34.17 :D I had 2 of those $75 credit cards from test driving the 2003 Ford Expeditions a while back. Props to AT Hot Deals!!!!

For all you Houston peeps, it was the OM on FM 1960 across from Willowbrook Mall.

I've never been able to use Staples coupons at OM or OD. However, both of them will take their own online coupons. Just print out the 30off150 webpage from OM.

S200 is the substitute that their warehouse brings up when you try to have A40 shipped to you. It seems like a lot of the OM employees are uninformed about whether their local warehouse has any A40 in stock let alone about the fact that the s200 is supposed to be the sub. I went today to an OM and they insisted that they had the A40 at their warehouse. When the sales guy helping me tried ordering the screen indicated that they were out of stock and immediately the S200 came up as the substitute. Needless to say, I ordered using the Staples coupon.

Strangely, my OM does not accept their own online coupons but they do accept competitors' coupons.

same thing happened tonight. they took the staples coupon, but not their own website's. friend in ann arbor got me one for $180 (w/tax) :D

Does anyone have a reference on their site or some policy stating that they will accept competitors coupons - I got an S200 last night, but the manager wouldn't accept the Staples coupon. She was very nice, but seemed very clueless. She basically said that they would pricematch specific products, but wouldn't take the coupons.

Anyway - two guys at the camera counter told me there was no substitution, but they could order me an A40. I flat out told them that I wanted to see their substitution list. They hummed and hawed a bit, then pulled it out and the S200 and some Panasonic were both listed as substitutes. As far as I could tell, they werent' lying, they were just clueless too.
